Hey again everyone.
The group of us had decided to seek out some training and some classes to help improve our PVP and combat tactics.  It had become clear that what we knew and what we were going to be up against didn't end up well for us.  Being all players for a year or more it is not that we don't have a good basic knowledge of what needs to be done but a lack of specific skills that make us successful more often than not.
Our first attempt failed miserably leaving us all with a bad taste in our mouths.  I think I can speak for all of us here.  If not, say so.  We attempted to join EVE University.  First the material seems very good and lots of formal instruction covering just about every topic on EVE combat.  Fill out the forms, click join corp, begin waiting in the queue for an interview... and waiting... and waiting... and... waiting.  Finally the first of us gets his interview.  Not accepted because they wanted him to come in on his main character who is an industry/science/manufacturing specialist and he applied with an alt.  Second person interviewed is told that he has too many skill points so they don't think E-UNI is suitable for him.  He's much too old to go back to school.  So much for continuing education!  After this, the rest of us realized that we weren't going to fit in either.  We were all "special cases".  After a little searching around I found OUCH the Open University of Celestial Hardship http://ouch.artofwar-alliance.com .  I joined their public chat and after a few minutes realized that they would take even old, grumpy, university rejects like us.  I liked their philosopy.  Their motto: Kill More, Die Less.  They train pilots how to survive in 0.0 space and even enjoy it.  So far the first classes have been helpful and enjoyable.  I'll report back when we are done!
